The ten minors arrested and accused of having robbed two students
Nine men and one girl, all minors, between the ages of 15 and 17, were arrested this Saturday by members of the First Police Station of the Buenos Aires Police when they tried to escape after having robbed two young people in the center of that city.
The arrests occurred after an alert by the operators of the Municipal Monitoring Center (COM), who noticed the assault on the victims on the corner of 8th and 50th streets through security cameras. The young men – both students, 20 and 22 years old – were robbed of a pair of sneakers and a cell phone. One of them was also beaten.
Consequently, according to what was reported by police sources, members of the aforementioned police unit went to the area and set up a lockdown operation, while the COM indicated the directions in which the suspects were fleeing.

The procedure was successful and the policemen caught the minors at the intersection of 14 and 51, eight blocks from the scene of the robbery. As detailed by the sources to Infobae, at that time, one of them had gotten on a bus and, noticing the police presence, wanted to discard the stolen shoes by throwing them out a window. But he was registered by a camera and the COM staff notified the agents.

In the case, the Functional Instruction Unit No. 3 of the jurisdiction of juvenile criminal responsibility, in charge of the prosecutor Carmen Ibarra, and the Court of Guarantees No. 3 of the Youth of the judicial department of La Plata intervene. The cause was classified as injuries and doubly aggravated robbery for being committed in a town and in a gang.
The prosecutor ordered that the legal medical examination be carried out on the victims and that the witness statement be subsequently extended, so that they recognize those who attacked them. On the other hand, she asked the COM staff to provide the footage of the event.
