Stefan de Vrij remains loyal to Internazionale. The 31-year-old defender has extended his contract with the losing Champions League finalist by two years until mid-2025.
De Vrij’s previous contract expired on July 1, leaving him on a free transfer since that day and speculating about his future. The defender still opts for an extended stay with the ‘Nerazzurri’.
De Vrij has been playing for Internazionale since 2018, which took him over on a free transfer from Lazio, the club he served between 2014 and 2018. The 59-time Oranje-international previously played for Feyenoord.
De Vrij was not assured of a base place at Internazionale last season. In the Champions League final lost 1-0 against Manchester City, the defender was on the bench for ninety minutes.
So far, De Vrij has played 203 official matches for Internazionale, in which he scored nine goals. The club from Milan finished third in Serie A last season and will therefore return to the Champions League after the summer.
