Evil returns The Nun 2 (2023), the latest sequel from the Conjuring universe. After the first chilling still of the film was already shown, the trailer has now also been revealed.
The Nun 2 takes place a few years later The Nun (2018) off. It is 1956 and a priest is brutally murdered. At a girls’ school, students see an apparition that doesn’t belong there. Sister Irene fears the worst: another confrontation with Valak is inevitable.
Evil with a mission
The ominous trailer doesn’t waste any time: expect the ‘jump scares’ and shady practices that previously made a success of The Conjuring 2 (2016) and subsequently spawned the first spin-off film. Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga)’s efforts are again desperately needed to stop the evil, but how will she survive now that evil has come directly for her?
Familiar new names
New to the cast of this sequel is The Last of Us actress Storm Reid, who also starred in the feature film earlier this year Missing (2023). A second new name is that of Anna Popplewell. You may know her from the Narnia movies (Susan). Jonas Bloquet and Bonnie Aarons (preferably not, but okay) take on the roles they also played in part 1.
The Nun II appears on 7 september in the cinema. Grab another movie during these summer months? Check our extensive cinema agenda, where you can also select by month.
