Lucas Gonzáles, the young man murdered in Barracas by members of the City
Next Thursday the trial for the crime of Lucas González will resume with the allegations of the prosecution. The hearing will be tomorrow at 9 a.m. in the Oral Criminal Court Room (TOC) 25, located at 1536 Paraguay Street in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
Prosecutor Guillermo Pérez de la Fuente will be in charge of arguing in the debate that he has 14 members of the Buenos Aires City Police accused of the crime. After the arguments of the prosecution are presented, it is expected that in the next hearings the defenses of the accused will make their arguments.
Gregorio Dalbón, plaintiff lawyer for the family of Lucas González, murdered on November 17, 2021, requested last week, during his plea, life imprisonment for police officers Gabriel Alejandro Issasi (42), Fabián Andrés López (48) and Juan José Nieva (38), for the “quadruply aggravated homicide for having been committed with treachery, pleasure and racial hatred with the premeditated cooperation of two or more people, abusing their function or position for being a member of a police force” of Lucas, and the “attempted aggravated homicide” of Julián Salas (19), Joaquín Zúñiga (18) and Niven Huanca (19).
The most important point of his argument centered on the description of the facts that the lawyer said he had accredited and described the policemen accused of the crime, who were in civilian clothes, as “three murderous gangsters.”
“They killed Lucas and they wanted to kill everyone. The defendants’ vehicle crashes into the victims’ vehicle, without beacons, without sirens, without identification that could make my clients think they were police officers. Was there a siren? Were there beacons? Yes, there was. She declared it an accidentological expert. Did they work? Yes”, Dalbón remarked to demonstrate the reckless way in which the three agents of the Brigade acted. “They shot at vital areas, that’s why they wanted to kill everyone,” the lawyer stressed.

In addition, Dalbón asked that Sebastián Jorge Baidón (28), an officer of the 4D Neighborhood Police Station, be sentenced to 30 years in prison for the “cover-up” of the crime and for the “torture” to which he subjected Zúñiga.
“He acted without a court order. She told Joaquín to put his cell phone down, put it against the fence, and frisked it. He is the one who told Joaquín ´where are you from, from Florencio Varela, you are a black shit, we are going to shoot you in the head´. Joaquín pointed his finger at him in the courtroom. He left a physical and psychological sequel to him, ”he said.
Meanwhile, for Héctor Claudio Cuevas (50), whose testimony led on June 3 to the arrest of another member of the City Police in the framework of the case, the officer Facundo Matías Torres, whom he accused of having was the one who went to look for the police station on his motorcycle and brought Issasi along with the toy weapon planted in the victims’ car in order to simulate a confrontation with alleged criminals, he asked for 3 years and 6 months in prison by removing the crime of “failure to prevent torture”.

“He stated that he saw everything, that the policemen acted badly and that they put the gun on him. I believe her for listening, I believe her because she said that she heard Lucas’s breathing and she couldn’t get it out of her head and I saw him saddened. We believe his regret is true, just like his fear,” she added.
For the other nine Dalbón police officers, he asked for 20 years “for having helped Issasi, Lopez and Nieva to evade the actions of Justice and for having altered traces, evidence and instruments of the crime double aggravated by the quality of public official of the authors, because the predicate offense is especially serious, illegal deprivation of liberty doubly aggravated for being a public official who, with abuse of his duties or without the formalities prescribed by law, deprived Lucas González, Julián Salas, Joaquín Zuñiga and Nieven Huanca of their liberty , and because, in the performance of an act of service, he omitted to prevent the commission of the crime of torture in his capacity as co-perpetrator, all in real competition.”
They are the inspecting commissioner of the Neighborhood Communal Department 4, Daniel Alberto Santana (50); the commissioner of Neighborhood Commune 4A, Rodolfo Alexander Ozan (54); the commissioner of the 4D Neighborhood Police Station, Fabian Alberto Du Santos (51); the commissioner of the 4D Commune, Ramon Jesus Chocobar (48); John Horace Rosemary (51); deputy commissioner Roberto Inca (47), to whom he also pleaded guilty to the crime of “ideological falsehood,” both direct bosses of the alleged killers in the Summary Division and Brigades of the Commune 4; and officers Jonathan Alexis Martinez, 34, Angel Darius Arevalos, 34, and Daniel Ruben Espinosa, 33, respectively.
In this context, de la Fuente is expected to request penalties similar to those requested by Dalbón. In the event that the process develops as planned, the verdict could be pronounced by the Court at the end of July.
