And it is that since the failure of the team in the World Cup in Qatar 2022, it has been pointed out countless times that one of the main evils of Mexican football is prioritizing business over sports; that is, looking for money, especially from fans who live in the US, who compete against rivals of category, such as the Copa América and the Copa Libertadores.

However, since 2016, by contract with the SUM company, El Tri chooses to measure itself against “comfortable” rivals in US territory, where stadiums are usually full; while the clubs with their similar ones from MLS and Concacaf, which has undoubtedly lowered the level of both.

One of those who exploded in the face of the defeat against the Stars and Stripes squad was Álvaro Morales, ESPN host, who, true to his style to create controversy, called on the Mexican fans to boycott the team of their loves.

In the Futbol Picante program, Morales asked that they not attend the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (Nevada) next Sunday, to support the Greens against Panama, in the game corresponding to third place in the Nations League; because he argued that only by “hitting the pocket” of the owners of the ball can there be structural changes that benefit sports.

“I am going to ask a favor of the Mexican fans who were planning to go to the game, that in a peaceful way, that they not go to the third game. I don’t like to attack the business, because I am a businessman, but sometimes you have to shake this off. And where does it hurt the managers? In the business”

“Not a single green shirt for the third place game. Not a single fan in the stadium, I’m asking you. They won’t understand, for them this is just a business. How does it hit them? Do not behave like fans, behave like customers who are not going to consume this, and there, this will change ”, he added.

After the fragment of the program was spread on networks, hundreds of users reacted to it. Although the vast majority agreed that the Mexican team should be “punished” in some way, others assured that no one will pay attention to it, because the need to belong to the “countrymen” is stronger when they see them play in the stadiums.
