Daniel Scioli and Victoria Tolosa Paz
There are 10 days left for the presentation of the candidates of the Frente de Todos, but the internal one in the ruling party was overheating today to unusual levels. Hours before the expiration of the term to deliver to the Electoral Justice the act of conformation of the alliance, the leaders of the two main spaces, led by Alberto Fernández, on the one hand, and Cristina Kirchner together with Sergio Massa, on the other, negotiate with bellicosidad the distribution of places that will be granted to each party in the lists of the general elections of October according to the percentages obtained in the PASO.
The candidate for the Buenos Aires governorship and ally of the ambassador in Brazil, Victoria Tolosa Paz, assured that they have all the necessary guarantees to be accepted by the Electoral Board of the front, demanded that the rules of the game “reflect the spirit of the organic charter of Peronism ” and ratified the will to compete no matter what: “Write the regulation that you write, we are going to introduce ourselves”.

The La Plata leader, who announced two weeks ago that she will compete in the PASO against Governor Axel Kicillof, spoke with accredited journalists at the Government House after participating in a meeting on social policies with the Minister of Labor, Kelly Olmos. And although she briefly referred to the Alimentar card, the axis of her statements revolved around the main concern of the official front page: the conformation of the front with which they will compete in the primaries.
Tolosa Paz sent a message to Máximo Kirchner, with whom – she said – she met yesterday to resist the blockade of Kirchnerism against the Labor and Equity Party (PARTE) that has Scioli as a pre-candidate for the presidency, and for which she It seeks to compete for the La Plata chair with the support of Alberto Fernández. From the sciolismo denounce that the camporismo, in charge of the Buenos Aires electoral assembly, wants to establish a floor of 40 percent for the minority, which would be applied only from the 11th place on the list of deputies in the lists for the Generals. Which, if fulfilled, would leave the moderates with just two seats and minimal chances of reaching Congress.
“We want to establish a regulation that reflects the desire for participation and democracy that the history of our Peronism has always had. In the organic letter there is talk of a floor of 25 percent. And we believe in that floor. There are different versions of the act. But write whatever regulations you write, we are going to be pre-candidates, and we are going to explain the government program and the ideas we have,” said the Minister of Social Development, who answers to the leadership of Alberto, from the patio of palm trees at Casa Rosada. Fernandez in the Cabinet.

And, in response to the possibility that Kirchnerism rejects the list through technicalities, the candidate slipped that her space “has more than 50,000 endorsements from the province.” “The bases are asking us for democracy and participation,” she said.
Earlier, the party’s representative, Aníbal Fernández, Minister of Security, had said that they were willing to prosecute the alliance’s presentation if they were not allowed to compete. Tolosa Paz left the door open to this complicated scenario. “Aníbal has the enormous task of watching over our list. Write the regulation that you write, you cannot stop participation, ”she said.
In addition to Aníbal Fernández, Alberto Pérez, Scioli’s former chief of staff when he was in charge of the Buenos Aires government, during the government of Cristina Kirchner, is in charge of negotiating for this incipient force. Both seek support among the mayors to support the list that Máximo Kirchner forced them to put together when he refused to include them on the ballot headed by Axel Kicillof to discourage competition at the national level.
Meanwhile, the governor of Formosa, Gildo Insfrán, who was left in charge of representing the PJ, as head of the party’s National Congress, and is negotiating, for Justicialismo, with Cristina Kirchner and Sergio Massa, is strong. The three are in tune with each other, although only Massa was openly against the PASO. For now, the vice president has not said what she wants to do, and Insfrán maintains a reservation about his inclinations. But, according to the claims of Alberto Fernández’s bishops, the hard wing of the Government would be pulling the strings to prevent internal competition.
This morning, suggestively, Insfrán met with Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro, the Interior Minister very close to the vice president, who is emerging as a presidential candidate. According to official sources, they discussed the formation of the front, but did not give details about the strategy or speak to the press after the meeting. In the afternoon, the Christian soldier will travel to La Pampa, but will continue at a distance the arduous negotiations in the province of Buenos Aires, which could lead to a brake on Scioli and a name change of the pro-government alliance that was born in 2019 under the Front of All seal.
The President, for his part, was traveling to San Luis this morning, where the ruling party of Adolfo Rodríguez Saa was defeated against the candidate of Together for Change, Claudio Poggi. As “Wado”, he will monitor the negotiations from inside the country, and will fight for his demands that the candidates be settled in the primary elections, facing the electorate, be met.
