Josh Homme had surgery for cancer last year. The Queens of the Stone Age frontman is still recovering from the surgery.
The American singer does not say what type of cancer it was. Although the operation was successful, the 50-year-old singer still has occasional pain.
“I never say it can’t get worse. But I do say it can be better,” he tells Revolver Magazine. According to him, the disease is “the icing on the cake” of an “interesting period”.
“I’m so thankful that I got through this and I look back on it with a shitty feeling. But it made me better. There are still a lot of things I want to do and there are a lot of people I want to do that with.”
Homme has had a turbulent time. His musical friends Mark Lanegan and Taylor Hawkins passed away last year and he was in a messy divorce with his now ex-wife Brody Dalle. She accused him of assault.
Queens of the Stone Age will release the new album In Times New Roman… on June 16 and will go on a European tour. The American rock band will perform at Pinkpop on June 17.
