Once again, the international players’ union Fifpro is sounding the alarm in its recent report entitled Calendar congestion: harmful effects on the health and well-being of players. The organization points out that some players now play 25 to 30% more playing time than their predecessors ten years ago. And is worried about the new formulas of the Champions League with 36 teams and the Club World Cup between 32 teams scheduled for the 2024-2025 season. They could lead some players to participate in 11% more matches.
