On the fourth day after the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam, the water level began to drop in Kherson.
The Ukrainian administration in the region said that 35 settlements remain flooded on the right bank, but the water level dropped by half a meter in one day.
**According to authorities, more than 6,000 people have been evacuated from dozens of flooded cities.**Residents of affected areas are told to sit on rooftops waiting for someone to rescue them from flooded houses or come down the water level. Even so, the bombardments do not stop.
The UN humanitarian office in Ukraine describes the level of suffering of those affected by the floods as “intolerable”. They have delivered an additional five truckloads of supplies.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the creation of a commission to fight the consequences of the floods.
