Zack Snyder shares first promising images of Netflix movie 'Rebel Moon'

One of the biggest movies coming to Netflix this year is Rebel Moon (2023). Director Zack Snyder’s adventurous sci-fi film will premiere later this year and a series of promising first images can already be seen today.

Peaceful colony

In the new Netflix film, an invasion of the powerful Regent Balisarius threatens. The young woman Kora (Sofia Boutella) must fend off the threat in order to protect the peaceful colony. She goes in search of warriors from all over the galaxy who can help her people in the fight against the invaders.

Star cast

Netflix has rounded up some hefty names for the upcoming sci-fi. In addition to Atomic Blonde star Boutella in the lead role, Charlie Hunnam, our own Michiel Huisman, Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins and Blood Diamond actor Djimon Hounsou also pass by.

Two movies

We know director Zack Snyder from films like Dawn of the Dead (2004), 300 (2006) in Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021). He previously worked with Netflix on Army of the Dead (2021). The streaming service is now so confident in its latest film that Netflix even announced that the story will be divided into two films. “In Rebel Moon, Snyder created a huge world that would be better served in two movies instead of one,” the streaming service said.
