A clash between elements of the Mexican Army and the National Guard against residents of two municipalities in the state of Michoacán, left a minor with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

According to the first reports, the federal elements carried out an operation to disarm the police in the municipalities of Peribán and Los Reyes, a situation that caused road blockades and riots in which residents participated.

The inhabitants armed themselves with stones and sticks to confront elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) and the National Guard, all to defend the disarmament of municipal police officers.

Reports indicate that the armed forces used tear gas to dissuade the protesters, in addition to firing shots.
