This was reported by the Swedish media, Sport Bladet, the request for jail from the Swedish Prosecutor’s Office as punishment for Sergio Peña.
The Swedish Prosecutor’s Office wrapped up the meeting, seeking a prison sentence for Sergio Peña for aggravated drunk driving and illegal driving, while the lawyer for the Malmo midfielder appealed that he should be sentenced to probation and 50 hours of community service, under the following arguments:
According to the defense of the member of the Peruvian team, he should be acquitted of illegal driving since he had his Peruvian driver’s license, which he used in different European countries, and was unaware that he had to apply for one from the Swedish nation after living for a lot of time.
Likewise, he put on the table that Sergio Peña suffered a deduction of one month’s salary and that if he went to prison, he would be suspended by Malmo. “He is not a criminal, he does not belong to a Swedish prison,” the lawyer asserted.
The 27-year-old logged off, admitting his mistake, promising he won’t do it again and sending a strong message: “I’ve been severely punished. My face has appeared in the media in both Sweden and Peru.”
