Morning, minute by minute: AMLO specified his position regarding the possible pact with criminal organizations

President López Obrador specified that a few days ago he said he was in favor of any measure that “would let us live in peace,” this in reference to the pact made by a group with criminal organizations to stop violence.

“What I said is that I was in favor of any measure that would allow us to live in peace. The question (regarding his opinion regarding the pact) always seemed biased to me, but I couldn’t say “note that we don’t want any agreement with crime” as the other presidents said “my hand is not going to tremble, we are going to defeat them” . No way to say, we do not have an agreement nor do we want to have them with those who of their own free will decide to act responsibly and humanely.

He pointed out that in the past administration the mistake of allowing the creation of self-defense groups was made, despite the fact that it is up to the State to guarantee peace. In this sense, he said that he will guarantee the safety of the seeking mothers and collectives.

He said that Tamaulipas currently looks “much better” in terms of security than in the previous administration.

AMLO criticized the OAS and the UN for not acting “justly”

President López Obrador highlighted the security conditions in which the country was handed over to him in 2018.

President López Obrador stressed that his government is focused on delivering justice and not repeating “shameful” and painful acts that occurred previously.

Data on criminal incidence and seizures in Tamaulipas

Admiral Rafael Ojeda Durán presented information on the crimes with the highest incidence in Tamaulipas.

Reynosa, Ciudad Víctoria, Matamoros, Altamira and Tampico are the states where there is the highest crime incidence in the state.

4,203 firearms and almost 3 million liters of stolen fuel have been seized.
