A singular debate arose on Wednesday, May 31, between the controversial senator of the Democratic Center, María Fernanda Cabal, and the German ambassador to Colombia, Marian Schuegraf, after the Teutonic diplomatic representative criticized both the congresswoman and the President of the Republic, Gustavo Francisco Petro, for the recent allusions that the two have made on Twitter about National Socialism.

It all started with Cabal’s celebration of the results of the regional elections in Spain last weekend, where the far-right Vox party doubled its votes. To his publication on the social network, Petro reacted with a reference to the rise to power in the European country of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party.
“The growth of @vox_es makes it clear that forceful opposition is what represents the people. The defense of the family, of the principles, values and freedoms, is the way. Society is tired of the “changes” that imply degradation (sic)”, trilled the congresswoman, to which the head of state reacted with the phrase: “It is Germany 1933 (sic)”.

However, as is usual with her, Cabal responded with another provocative publication in which she reiterated, as she has done on previous occasions, that this totalitarian regime derived from socialism.
“Don’t forget that the Nazis are socialists. And they are brothers of the fascists and the communists. Three Siamese collectivist doctrines, daughters of socialism, the religion that you profess (sic) ”, he told her in another trill.

And aside, she once again highlighted the benefits that capitalism brings to countries, which is the system that, according to her, guarantees progress.
“Free Market is creativity and this comes from the spirit, from the individual, not from some hallucinated idiot and his frenzy for the State (sic)”, he added.
Without mentioning the senator, Ambassador Schuegraf dismissed that statement, and recalled that the socialists were the first victims of the genocide perpetrated by National Socialism in Europe during World War II.
“The Nazis were not socialists. Fascism is an ideology of hate. The Social Democrats were among the first to be killed in the concentration camps (sic)”, he expressed.
And again Cabal went on the charge, this time against the diplomat and maintained that the top leaders of those parties in Italy and Germany, in the first half of the 20th century, were of socialist ideology.
“Ambassador, I regret to inform you that Hitler and Mussolini were socialists. And socialism is the womb from which fascism, Nazism and communism were born; ALL collectivist doctrines that annul the individual and privilege the power and religion of the State (sic) ”, she assured.
The mention of Germany 1933 with which the president reacted to the Cabal celebration, apparently, did not go down well with the diplomatic representative either, who affirmed that it was a lightness, although she did not mention the president either.
“What happened in 1933? A crime from which we must learn. The crimes of the Nazis are of such magnitude that a comparison should not be made lightly. We owe this respect to the millions of victims (sic)”, indicated the German diplomatic representative.
Senator Cabal echoed this criticism on the same social network: “Here they speak to Petro. She is the German Ambassador to Colombia (sic)”.
It is not the first time that the Colombian president mentions that year, when the genocidal National Socialist German Workers Party came to power in Germany and would completely change the history of the planet.
In fact, he highlighted it when he defended the Vice President of the Republic, Francia Elena Márquez, for the racist attacks she received at the end of last year.
He also did so in November 2022 during the fifth annual meeting of the Paris Forum on Peace, where he indicated that the world suffers the consequences of wars over fossil fuels, which are responsible for climate change.
“In practice we are going towards wars, we are going towards barbarism. I have nominated this trend 1933, but global, in 1933 Hitler rose to power in Germany (sic) ”, he stated on that occasion.
