On the night of May 31, an intense explosion was recorded at a gas station in the municipality of Juan Aldama, Zacatecas, which alerted the population due to the magnitude of the flames.

According to the first reports from Civil Protection and the Security Secretariat, the accident occurred as a result of a collision between a pipe carrying fuel and a private car.
Apparently, the pipe ran out of brakes, so it could not stop its march and it hit a Volkswagen Jetta. The impact caused a loud explosion and a fire whose column of smoke extended for several meters.

After the first efforts to control the conflagration, the authorities confirmed that the drivers of both units died.
“We are in a position to confirm the death of two people, one of them the driver of a fuel pipe and the second, the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta vehicle, who, being injured, was taken to a hospital, unfortunately when he was receiving care medical, he lost his life”, was the report offered by the Secretary of Security.
