A shortage of professionals

In 2020, there were 3,613 homes for childminders, rather in rural and peri-urban areas, according to the National Family Allowance Fund (Cnaf).

There is currently a shortage of 10,000 professionals, in nurseries and childminders, to ensure the reception of young children, according to the National Council for Refoundation (CNR) early childhood.

71% of families living below the poverty rate do not use any reception solution, compared to 37% in the general population. In addition, the offer of individual or collective reception varies considerably from one department to another.
