Saint Joan of Arc († 1431)

At 13, she heard the voices of Saint Michael, Saint Catherine and Saint Marguerite asking her to liberate France from the English and to have the king crowned in Reims. A year after delivering Orléans, she was taken prisoner at Compiègne and delivered to the English. Condemned as a heretic by an ecclesiastical tribunal, she was burned alive at the age of 19 in Rouen. She is co-patroness of France.
