Prime Video sees the success of Citadel (2023– ) with a broad smile and already decides to ensure the series has a sequel. The espionage series from Joe and Anthony Russo is officially getting a second season.
Joe Russo gets bigger role
Although the episodes of the first season were still directed by a different director – such as Jessica Yu, Newton Thomas Sigel and Anthony and Joe Russo – the entire second season will be directed by Joe Russo alone. David Weil is back as a series creator.

Successful first season
The streaming service also announces that the first season of the very expensive series is Prime Video’s second most watched Original series in the US. Single The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022– ) fared better on the streaming service. Worldwide, it is Prime Video’s fourth most-watched series.
