Erik ten Hag has secured a Champions League ticket for next season with Manchester United. The Dutch coach secured participation in the European ball of millions by winning 4-1 against Chelsea with his team on Thursday.
Manchester United needed a draw against Chelsea for a spot in the Champions League. ‘The Red Devils’ started excellently and took the lead after six minutes via Casemiro. The Brazilian headed in from a free kick by Christian Eriksen.
After half an hour, Ten Hag had to deal with a setback. Antony was in a lot of pain after a foul by Trevor Chalobah and had to be replaced. In the remainder of the first half, Chelsea came close to equalizing a few times through Kai Havertz and Conor Gallagher.
On the other hand, it was well into the injury time of the first half. After a beautiful no-look pass from Casemiro, Jadon Sancho put the ball in front and Anthony Martial simply rounded off.
With Tyrell Malacia in the squad, Manchester United went looking for more goals in the second half and were soon close. Shortly after the break, Bruno Fernandes hit the crossbar and moments later Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was able to narrowly turn Eriksen’s bet.

João Félix saved the honor for Chelsea in the final phase. The Portuguese was played near the center line by Hakim Ziyech, who had just come in, and found the goal after a nice individual action. Wout Weghorst stayed on the bench with the home team.
