New success for ‘Mask Singer’, surprises with the appearance of El Rubius and Feliciano López

Seeing celebrities dancing on stage dressed in a striking way and hidden behind large masks are the two great attractions of Mask Singer, which in its third season continues to reap great success. Not only because it is a dynamic format with a lot of room for improvisation and humor, especially because it manages to attract those familiar faces who normally prefer to stay in the background and away from the cameras.

This has happened twice in the program this Wednesday, May 24, in which the protagonists have been Felicano López and El Rubius. To date neither of them had done anything similar, always limiting themselves to their professions, the former being a tennis player and the latter being a youtuber, hence the great expectation that has been generated.

The athlete was under the mask of ‘Esqueleto’ and sang the famous song Bienvenidos by Miguel Ríos. Although it was not easy to guess who it was, one of the members of the jury, Javier Calvo, managed to guess with just a few clues such as that it was “the fastest skull in the underworld” and that he had a pending duel “with an old Sith ”, referring to Roger Federer. “My uncle is Nacho Calvo, the famous tennis commentator. I have seen a lot of tennis as a child ”, the actor revealed to justify how he had found his identity so quickly.

With El Rubius it was not so easy. Los Javis, Ana Obregón and Mónica Naranjo tried to guess who was hiding under the guise of ‘Tiger’, but none of them was right and the fact is that the content creator is so discreet in his private life, in fact he resides in Andorra, that nobody imagined his presence. After removing her mask, she said that her mother was on the set to fulfill a wish, who is a great follower of the program in its Norwegian version and when she found out that they had invited him to participate, she “forced” him to go.

Although he assured that he was leaving with a great taste in his mouth, he also said that he had had a bad time and suffered a small episode of stress. “In the first rehearsal I panicked a bit. I had a problem with the helmet of the mask. There was very little space and very little vision, so I began to get overwhelmed a bit”, said Rubén Doblas, as his real name is. “I could move, but when you’re locked up it’s like there’s no way out,” he explained, so the audience could understand how he felt.

The streamer opted for a song that has been heard for decades, Beggin, by Frankie Valli and recently covered by the Italian group Måneskin. Although he was a bit shy in front of the cameras, the truth is that it was not his first time in an Atresmedia group program. In 2015 he was one of the guests of El rincón de pensar, an interview format that was presented by Risto Mejide and, in 2020 he presented his own space, Top Gamers Academy, at Neox.
