On the night of May 17, the businessman declared that during the early hours of May 15 he learned, through the unit’s GPS, that in the municipality of Cedral, San Luis Potosí, he had left his route and remained immobile for 30 minutes; in addition to the fact that the 52 people on board had been deprived of their liberty by armed and hooded individuals.
And it is that a few hours later, the captors contacted him to ask him for a thousand 500 dollars in ransom for each person.
As a result of these events, he filed a complaint with the San Luis Potosí State Attorney General’s Office (FGESLP) for the theft of the bus, which was found abandoned hours later in the municipality of Galeana, in Nuevo León; that is, about 167 kilometers to the north.

Between the first days of April and May 2023, in Mexico there have been massive kidnappings of migrants trying to reach the northern border.
The cases occur just as Mexico is going through a migration crisis due to the large number of migrants who cross the territory to find new opportunities in the US.
For its part, the National Institute of Migration (INM) announced this Friday that it delivered Visitor Cards for Humanitarian Reasons (TVRH) to 48 of these migrants who were rescued.
