What did you miss?
Supporters of AZ stormed the main stand of the AFAS Stadium yesterday after the elimination in the semi-final of the Conference League. There they confronted supporters of opponent West Ham United.
It is not yet entirely clear whether these were fans or friends and relatives of West Ham players.
In any case, West Ham players rushed to the stands to intervene. They had many relatives at the place where the fighting took place. Players from AZ and trainer Pascal Jansen and director Robert Eenhorn also tried to prevent worse.
Last week, AZ lost the away match in London 2-1. Relatives of players and members of AZ’s technical staff were then attacked in the first half when they cheered on an AZ goal.

That photo, with actor Damian Lewis as Commander Winters, is now being copied en masse by tourists.
