Milei’s space tickets in Tierra del Fuego
The presidential candidate Javier Milei had a new upset in the last hours, after the Electoral Court of First Instance of Tierra del Fuego challenged more than 3,000 ballots from his local allies for having a different color from the one that was approved before the elections. .
In this way, the candidates for councilors of the United Republicans party, who make up the La Libertad Avanza front, would lose the two seats they had won, one in Ushuaia and the other in Río Grande, where on May 14 they had won 4.12 % and 4.30% of the votes, respectively.
This is how the Electoral Boards resolved it when they carried out the final scrutiny of the last elections in the Conrado Witthaus Assembly Hall of the court building of the provincial capital, where they analyzed the ballots that were appealed.

“They resolved that the appealed votes of Republicans due to the color of the green ballot are null votes, for not complying with what is established by law and municipal ordinances on which ballots should be used, explained the Court.
Through a series of messages that he posted on his Twitter account, the organization remarked that “the law establishes that one of the reasons for invalidating votes is using ballots other than the official ones, which in this case is clearly verified.” , although he clarified that, “in any case, the Electoral Boards are opening the tables of appealed and null votes in the same way.”
Javier Milei with Andrea Almirón de Pauli, who was his candidate for governor in Tierra del Fuego
In dialogue with Infobae, the party’s agent, Santiago Pauli, explained that everything was due to an error in the printing of some of the lists, but that he already tried to present before the Electoral Judge of the province, Mariel Zaninni, the request for a precautionary measure so that the voted leaders can assume, but the magistrate “refused to receive it.”
“It is common for the printed ballots to differ in color from the approved ones. But it is always chosen that the expressed will of the voter prevail. Except today, ”he lamented.
Faced with this situation, the representative of the space anticipated that he will appeal to the Fuegian Superior Court of Justice to try to move forward with his precautionary request and, if he does not have an answer either, he would seek the intervention of federal justice.
“The resolution of the Tierra del Fueguina Electoral Board to nullify votes that, due to a printing defect, have not found the exact shade of color, is terrible. It does not matter which party is harmed or favored: they are violating the will of the voters,” said Senator Pablo Blanco, who was the candidate for governor of Juntos por el Cambio in this province.
On the other hand, the same party issued a statement in which it denounced “the actions of the caste against the popular will” and accused “the majority political forces, made up mainly of FORJA and Melella”, of trying to “modify the electoral result”. to leave them “without representation in the councils”.
The recusal also affected other spaces of the opposition
“To do this, they try to challenge and invalidate all the votes for Republican councilors based on the subjective criteria that our ballots are not correctly differentiated by color, when the electoral court approved, received, and distributed our ballots throughout the entire province. In other words, they threaten democracy and the institutions of Tierra del Fuego themselves,” the space said.

“We are the only officially elected opposition force in the legislature of our province and they fear us. They fear us because we are not going to allow corruption to go unpunished. We are going to fight in favor of all the neighbors, and we will work so that this new act of corruption does not go unpunished,” the statement concluded.
