The documentary The dress and the shipwreck (NTR), the VPRO series Onze man bij de Taliban and the drama series Disaster Flight (KRO-NCRV) have been nominated this year for the Silver Nipkow Disc. This year the Honorary Silver Nipkow Disc goes to the satirical program Even tot hier by Niels van der Laan and Jeroen Woe.
The nominations for the prestigious television award were announced on Wednesday evening by the jury in the talk show Jinek.
According to the jury, Van der Laan and Woe “make difficult subjects accessible to a wide audience and then cleverly mix them with other jokes about everything and everyone”. The two comedians are “in their ninth season in their best form yet.” Last year, Even tot hier won the Gouden Televizier-Ring.
This year, the special mention goes to Raven van Dorst, who, according to the jury, as a “disarming, overwhelming television personality” gets revelations “brilliantly” from guests on the farm. Van Dorst is also in the game show Wie van de Drie? from SBS6 “a welcome panelist with tantalizing remarks”.
The prize went to BOOS last year
The Silver Nipkow Disc is awarded to the best TV program or the best TV maker. The presentation will take place on 15 June, when the Silver Travel Microphone for the best radio program or the best radio maker will also be awarded.
Last year, Tim Hofman’s online program BOOS won the prize with its broadcast about the abuses behind the scenes of The Voice of Holland. Paul Witteman won the Honorary Silver Nipkow Disc and there was a special mention for the makers of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
