In the US state of Texas, the FBI is still hunting the man who shot and killed five people in a house on Friday, including an eight-year-old child. $80,000 has been awarded for information leading to the arrest of 38-year-old Francisco Oropeza.
Where he is now is unknown. According to the FBI, the man is armed and dangerous. “He is still on the loose and therefore poses a threat to the population,” an FBI agent told media last night. “He can be anywhere now.” Searches are being carried out with drones and dogs, among other things.”
Ten people lived in the house where the drama took place yesterday. Oropeza was their neighbor.
He was practicing with a semi-automatic machine gun in his garden when his neighbors asked him to stop so their baby could sleep. Oropeza then replied that he shot in his own front yard and he can do whatever he wants in his own home. Shortly afterwards, Oropeza entered their home and shot five of them in the head.
The youngest fatality was eight, the oldest 31. They were all from Honduras. Honduras’s foreign minister was shocked by the violence. “We demand that every effort be made to bring those responsible for this crime to justice.”
