Partly thanks to two great goals, NAC Breda won a goal feast against Roda JC on Saturday. In the 35th round of the Kitchen Champion Division, the home team took a big step towards the play-offs with a 4-2 win.
NAC took the lead against Roda JC after fifteen minutes. The first good attack by the team from Breda immediately resulted in a goal. After Roda lost the ball, Elias Már Ómarsson was sent forward, who scored the opening goal after a one-two with Jort van der Sande.
Ten minutes later, Ezechiel Banzuzi headed in the 2-0. After a beautiful cross from Van der Sande, the eighteen-year-old midfielder scored his fifth goal of this season. Roda, which barely came close to NAC’s goal, brought back the tension in the 35th minute. Niek Vossebelt shot in the 2-1 from a rebound.
While the NAC fans still had to recover from the goal against, Victor Wernersson made it 3-1 with a beautiful goal. From a rather difficult angle, he curled the ball in via the inside of the post. The assist was again in the name of Van der Sande, who was worth gold for the home team with three assists.
Roda did something back via Arjan van der Heide in the 81st minute with the 3-2, but the great final chord came from Sabir Agougil. After a blunder by Roda keeper Rody de Boer, the NAC midfielder put an end to all tension with a beautiful shot from about 40 meters: 4-2.
With the win over Roda JC, NAC takes a giant step towards the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie. The Brabanders are in fifth place with 56 points. The period champions, supplemented by the best teams in the final ranking, go to the play-offs.
