Grindetti continues touring the province of Buenos Aires
Néstor Grindetti, a pre-candidate for governor in the province of Buenos Aires for the PRO, was shown in a tour of the Merlo party, in the west of the Buenos Aires suburbs, and spoke of his chances of competing for the governorship, of his rivals in the internal party that until recently was chaired by Patricia Bullrich and also spoke about the possibility that the Buenos Aires governor, Axel Kicillof, decides to split the elections.
“I have been preparing for a long time to be governor, I have the experience and knowledge of the province, having governed a municipality of more than half a million inhabitants in the heart of the Buenos Aires suburbs,” said Grindetti, referring to his time in the management of the municipality of Lanús. There he is currently on leave, since he took charge of the crisis that Club Atlético Independiente went through after the resignation of Fabián Doman.
Beyond this circumstance, Grindetti stressed that he is not the only one who aspires to compete for the first magistracy of the province of Buenos Aires within the PRO. “There are also Javier (Iguacel) and Joaquin (De la Torre), with whom we share the same technical team and we are analyzing proposals and government programs, I am sure we will agree,” he said.

In this context, he made the final decision subject to the agreements that can be obtained in the party, within the framework of the electoral strategy defined by Together for Change to compete against Peronism in Buenos Aires territory. For that determination, Grindetti reserved a fundamental role for Bullrich, who presided over the PRO until a few weeks ago and who is one of the main pre-candidates for president of the Nation for that space.
Grindetti was confident that together with Patricia Bullrich they will define the best candidate for governor of Buenos Aires
“I am confident that with Patricia (Bullrich) we are going to find the best person from Buenos Aires to represent us,” Grindetti summarized.
In this line of reasoning, the current head of Independiente valued the strategy of using the Primaries, Open, Simultaneous and Obligatory (PASO) as a tool to settle the internal party ones, as they were originally conceived. “The PASO in the province have strengthened us in 2021 and I think they will do it again this year, our electoral offer is clearly from Buenos Aires, based on the experience of mayors who have governed complex districts and who know the provincial administration very well, I think which is an added value that people will know how to value”, he analyzed before the local media.
The leader showed up in Merlo accompanied by the provincial senator and local candidate, Aldana Ahumada, and by the provincial deputy, Adrian Urreli. Grindetti’s agenda in the Buenos Aires party included a meeting with leaders and members of Juntos de Merlo and a meeting with neighbors at the Club Atlético y Social Belgrano de Merlo center.

Finally, he mentioned a possibility that had circulated in recent weeks regarding the Buenos Aires electoral calendar. The Buenos Aires PRO warned that Governor Kicillof is considering the possibility of separating the general elections in the province of Buenos Aires from the national ones, within the framework of a strategy to retain power.
“I’m not worried about splitting, I don’t agree to change the rules of the game in the middle of the game, but we’re going to compete the same and it’s an opportunity to show who knows the province of Buenos Aires the most,” said the community chief of Lanús.
