A Briton got quite the scare when his puppy ate his toe, but the incident ultimately saved his life.
David Lindsay, 64, was taking a nap when he was awakened by the screams of his wife. That’s when he discovered that his right big toe was just a bloody stump. Harley, his seven-month-old bulldog puppy, broke his bone by biting him while he slept.
Despite everything, the little ball of fur saved his life. Indeed, it was thanks to this incident that the man suffering from diabetes realized that he no longer had any sensation in his foot.
Thus, during X-rays, doctors discovered that he had two clogged arteries in his legs, according to the British media “The Independent”. The whole thing also endangered his legs, which risked amputation if the blood had not been quickly redirected.
Grateful that his pup saved his life, David Lindsay assured ‘The Independent’ that he intended to keep Harley.
“You have to laugh about it. He did me a favor by eating my toe,” he said.
The latter is still waiting to know if his member can be saved.
“I will try to keep my toe too, but if not I told the doctor to cut it off and I could take it home to [mon chiot]”, he added.
