The rail transport strike has paralyzed Germany this Friday.
Both human and merchandise trafficking have been affected.
The Railway and Transport Union, EVG, demands an increase of at least 650 euros per month for all employees. The bosses say they are willing to negotiate and regret the strikes.
“The responsibility for this lies with the EVG. This strike is useless and unnecessary, because on the one hand we have already set a negotiation date, next Tuesday. And on the other, we have agreed to make an offer…”, Achim lamented Stauss, a spokesman for the German train company Deutsche Bahn.
The union has rejected the attempt by the German railway company, Deutsche Bahn, to reach an agreement on the basis of the arbitration award in the public sector.
And the most affected are the travelers who think that both parties must agree: “The question is the consequences (of the strike). I think it is a bit unfair for the passengers. I think they should reach an agreement,” said one of them blocked at the Hannover station.
The rail workers’ protest also coincided with the second day of warning strikes by security and control personnel at Düsseldorf, Cologne-Bonn, Hamburg and Stuttgart airports.
