Five people were killed in an armed attack in Tequisquiapan, Querétaro on the night of Tuesday, April 19. One of them was identified as Álvaro Sánchez Sánchez, an alleged criminal leader who was wanted by United States authorities.

The events occurred at Rancho Los 6 Hermanos, located in the El Tejocote community. The Querétaro Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the body of Álvaro “S”, originally from the State of Mexico, was found in the place and that before arriving in Querétaro he was in Veracruz; the other victims were women, his wife, aunts and his niece.

According to data from the authorities, the man originally from Edomex had armed escorts, who have already been interviewed as part of the investigations.

Intelligence reports indicated that said person would be Álvaro Sánchez Sánchez, also known by the alias El Tartamudo, and journalistic publications identified him as an alleged criminal leader.

In an image of the government of the State of Mexico, shared on Twitter by the reporter Waldo Maya, it could be seen that he has an arrest warrant in the United States for the crime of conspiracy to traffic drugs.

For his part, journalist Ricardo Ravelo reported that El Tartamudo had great economic power, because he had various properties, animals and even aircraft, and that he would be in contact with people dedicated to drug trafficking both in the United States and in America. The multi-homicide occurred just one day after the murder of an artisan leader in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, events that led to the death of two other people and the cancellation of classes in the area.

After the violence in Chiapas, a video circulated in which alleged members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) claimed responsibility for the attack and issued more threats.

“San Cristóbal and its surroundings, as you already realized, we have already entered and the cleanup has already begun, we are the Jalisco Cartel and what happened to Jerónimo Ruiz will happen to Narciso Ruiz, alias El Narso, to Calafas, to Águila, al Birria, al Max and all those groups of Mopeds that are supporting these scourges”, said the alleged hitmen.
