Feyenoord defender Gernot Trauner has recovered sufficiently from an injury to start in the city derby against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday. In addition, Igor Paixão replaces the suspended Oussama Idrissi in the front.
The 31-year-old Trauner suffered a minor injury during the international match with Austria. It remained to be seen whether the stopper was fit in time for the duel with Sparta. Trauner replaces Lutsharel Geertruida, who was injured on his debut for the Netherlands against France (4-0 loss).
Defender Quinten Timber and goalkeeper Justin Bijlow have been out of circulation at Feyenoord for some time. The latter will perform goalkeeper work again in a fairly short period of time, trainer Arne Slot reported at the press conference on Friday.

Idrissi received his fifth yellow card of the season on March 19 when he won the Classic against Ajax (2-3) and is suspended for the match at Het Kasteel. Up front, Paixão forms a trio with striker Santiago Giménez and Alireza Jahanbakhsh.
Feyenoord hopes to maintain its lead over competitors Ajax, PSV and AZ in the Eredivisie against Sparta. The team from Amsterdam is currently playing the away match against Go Ahead Eagles. PSV won 2-4 against NEC on Saturday, while AZ drew 1-1 against sc Heerenveen.
The Rotterdam derby starts at 2.30 pm and is led by referee Dennis Higler.
