The reformist coalition led by former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov is the likely winner of the Bulgarian parliamentary election, after exit polls put it in first place on Sunday.
The exit poll carried out by the Gallup International pollster gave the coalition formed by the We Continue the Change party and the right-wing Democratic Bulgaria party 25.3%, surpassing the center-right GERB party of former Prime Minister Boiko Borissov , with 24.7%.
The first results are expected on Monday, but it could be several days before the final official results are announced. If they confirm the exit polls, Petkov’s coalition will be mandated to form a cabinet.
However, it seems that it will be very difficult for him to find allies to form a government coalition in a fragmented Parliament.
