On the Maas in Maastricht, rescue services have removed a person from an overturned boat from the water. The victim was rushed to hospital. Another person on board is still being sought. It is probably a father and son.
Around 1 p.m., the emergency services received a report that a person had been seen in the water at the Sluisdijk, close to the weir in Borgharen, on the north side of Maastricht.
Boats and diving teams were deployed in the rescue operation.
A search is also underway for the second person on board downstream, just across the border in Belgium.
