Bahrain Victorious’s Filip Maciejuk was kicked out of the Tour of Flanders on Sunday for causing a huge crash. With a bizarre action, the Pole caused dozens of riders to fall on the asphalt.
Halfway through the race, 23-year-old Maciejuk ended up in the grass next to the road. He tried to get back on the road, but his maneuver eventually caused dozens of riders to fall.
Peter Sagan, Julian Alaphilippe, Mads Pedersen, Jasper Stuyven, Tim Wellens, Oier Lazkano and Ben Turner, among others, were victims of the crash. The three latter riders have since dismounted.
Currently, a group of eight riders is at the front with a lead of more than five minutes on the peloton. The Dutchmen Daan Hoole and Elmar Reinders are part of the leading group.
