Spakenburg had a bad dress on Saturday for the semi-final in the KNVB Cup against PSV. The cup sensation did not get further than 1-1 against OFC in the Second Division.
Spakenburg started the match moderately at Sportpark De Westmaat. Coach Chris de Graaf’s team fell behind after just nine minutes due to a goal from Victor van der Linde.
Spakenburg also played mediocre in the remainder of the first half, but after half an hour the home team was close to the equalizer. Floris van der Linden, top scorer in the KNVB Cup with five goals, headed the ball against the underside of the crossbar.
With Vince Gino Dekker and Jan van Diermen joining the team, Spakenburg went on the hunt for the equalizer in the second half. Six minutes after the break, that resulted in Koos Werkman’s 1-1, who headed in from a corner kick.
A minute later, Spakenburg had the perfect opportunity to take the lead. The ball hit the spot, but Van der Linden’s penalty was saved by goalkeeper Ischa Bouwman. In the final phase, Dekker almost made it 2-1, but his free kick from 25 meters hit the crossbar.

Spakenburg will play against PSV on Tuesday
Due to the draw, Spakenburg remains number ten in the Second Division. OFC is still last despite the point.
Spakenburg will play against PSV in the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup for its own audience on Tuesday. ‘De Blauwen’ previously stunted in the cup against FC Utrecht (1-4 in the quarter finals) and FC Groningen (2-3 in the second round).
The other semi-final battle in the KNVB Cup will take place on Wednesday in De Kuip between Feyenoord and Ajax. The cup final is scheduled for Sunday, April 30 in Rotterdam.
