► Increased social benefits
To counter the effects of inflation, social benefits will be increased by 1.6% from 1 April. The RSA, which benefits nearly 2 million people, will increase for a single person from €598.54 to €608.12 per month.
The activity bonus, a supplement for low-income workers over the age of 18, should reach €595.25, compared to €586.23 for a single person.
Family allowances will also be increased by 1.6%. For a couple with two children, the amount increases from €139.83 to €141.99 and from €318.99 to €323.91 for those with three children.
The allowance for disabled adults (AAH), the education allowance for disabled children (AEEH), the shared child education allowance and the birth bonus will also be increased.
► Revalued unemployment benefits
Unemployment benefits will increase by 1.9% on April 1. This is the second revaluation in a year, an exceptional measure since the creation of unemployment benefits.
This revaluation will apply to all the usual parameters: the minimum unemployment benefit, the fixed part of the return-to-work assistance allowance (ARE) and the minimum threshold of the return to work training (ARE-F).
► Sexist and sexual contempt: new offense
Penalized since 2018 by a ticket, sexist and sexual outrage becomes, from April 1, a real offense. He will be liable to a fine of up to €3,750.
► Energy audit
The obligation for owners of energy-intensive properties to carry out an energy audit in the event of a sale comes into force on April 1.
The measure makes an energy audit compulsory in the event of the sale of a “thermal sieve”, a property classified G or F in the energy performance diagnosis (DPE).
This audit is intended to inform the buyer of the work to be planned as part of an energy renovation, one of the key points of the ministry’s policy concerning ecological transition. These works are not compulsory to conclude the sale, but the purchaser will be informed of their nature.
► End of the winter break
The winter break, in effect since November 1, 2022, ends on March 31. From April 1, the truce in procedures for the eviction of a tenant or gas and electricity cuts, in particular due to unpaid bills, will no longer apply.
► Tax return time
The month of April will mark the beginning of the tax declaration campaign. From April 13, taxpayers will be able to connect to their personal space on the impots.gouv.fr website or on the impots.gouv application.
The deadline for completing and validating the declaration is May 22 for paper declarations. The deadlines for the online declaration range from May 25 to June 8 depending on the department.
► Last days for Parcoursup
From April 1, the days of high school students to formulate and modify their training wishes are numbered. April 6 is the deadline to complete your file and confirm your wishes on the higher education orientation platform.
Parcoursup then goes into standby for two months. From June 1, universities, preparation and BTS will begin to send their admission proposals to candidates.
► Suspension for the receipt
The receipt should have disappeared on April 1st. But he won a reprieve at the last moment. His disappearance should not occur until August or September.
The government would like to prevent the abolition of the receipt from being perceived by public opinion as a maneuver to camouflage the rise in prices, at a time when inflation is high, particularly in food.
