Chivas striker José Juan Macías suffered a car accident on March 27 in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, in the state of Jalisco.

It was the Twitter account @Trafico_ZMG where the road mishap between two trucks at the intersection of Camino Antiguo to Tesistán and Air Base, heading towards Zapopan, was reported after 1:00 p.m., which generated a high vehicular load. However, only images of the vehicles involved and not of their occupants were shared.

“Anonymous please, crash on Avenida Base Aérea and Camino Viejo to Tesistan is the Chivas player JJ Macías,” the publication reads.

It was until this Tuesday that various media reported that one of those affected was the 23-year-old footballer from the “sacred flock”, who is in good health, since there was only material damage.

The foregoing, despite the fact that photos have been disseminated on social networks where the spectacular impact can be seen, since his white truck, the Chevrolet Blazer brand, worth 1.6 million pesos, was completely damaged from the front.

It is worth mentioning that José Juan Macías suffered a new injury with Chivas on February 17, so his return to the courts will take at least another nine months.

The team reported that the player suffered a total tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in training, the player underwent a successful autograft operation.

The Guadalajara team stressed that it is not a relapse in the recovery process in which it was satisfactorily. It is expected that the player can be part of the Apertura 2023 tournament and add minutes from October 2023 in the best of cases.

After his brief stint at Getafe FC in the Spanish LaLiga, where he also suffered a serious injury and few minutes, Macías returned to Chivas in January 2022 with a USD1.7 million-a-year contract, according to the Futbol Total portal.

This means that when he is able to return to the field, the club from Guadalajara will have invested USD 3.4 million for a soccer player who spent most of his time in rehabilitation.
