Two people were stabbed to death in a cultural center for Muslims in Lisbon today. The perpetrator was shot by the police and is in hospital.
The attack was in the Ismaili center in the Portuguese capital. According to CNN Portugal, the perpetrator is a man of Afghan descent. He allegedly stabbed the victims with a large knife. The Portuguese newspaper Público writes that the victims are women.
The police allegedly shot him in the leg when he approached officers with his knife.
According to Portuguese Prime Minister Costa, everything indicates that the perpetrator acted alone. A motive is not yet known.
