After the investigation that has unfolded the case, it is believed that the sum of money that these two people took from the 18 people is around 300,000 dollars, because in addition to being left owing money to natural persons, they also remained in debt with different financial entities.

The story that seems like something out of a movie began at a Medellín university in 2019 and ended with a call from Alejandro to Andrés Vasco, one of his victims, in May 2022, in which he told him that he would leave the country.

“He tells me: ‘Andrés, I already know what you are doing. Keep in mind that I am at the airport, I am leaving the country. Do whatever you want’. And he threw the phone at me. That was the last time I spoke to Alejandro,” the lawyer told the El Tiempo newspaper.

According to the information that has been revealed through both media outlets, the rapprochement between Andrés Vasco and the scammers occurred when Andrés and his mother asked Kelly Córdoba for help with a medical liability case where they sought compensation for surgery. aesthetics that, due to malpractice, resulted in physical damage.

At that time, Andrés provided his services and as a matter of life a friendship was cultivated that made the couple and those accused of robbery share different spaces: shopping for clothes, dinners, parties and others. For a year, this made the friendship between the parties stronger, even making him believe that he needed affection and that he had plenty of money.

“I began to feel a lot of empathy because I saw a very lonely young man who wanted to spend all the time he could with us. People have not understood that the first thing they did was deceive our hearts, not our pockets,” Kelly told the national newspaper.

However, over time the one who implanted the story of the supposed inheritance was Olga Cardona, who began to create intrigue and curiosity, until one day she confessed to them that her son was supposedly waiting for the inheritance to be legalized by father of his paternal grandfather who would have inherited not only the title of Duke, but would have left him a juicy inheritance.

Parallel to the theater of the supposed inheritance and the real title, once they gained the trust of the lawyer couple, they asked them to borrow money, initially, only 6,000 dollars, with the condition that they would return double and in 4 months. That’s how it happened and everything was fine.

But apparently all the investments and business attempts made by Alejandro Estrada Cardona fell through, until one day, in one of his attempts, he supposedly fell into depression and that was the perfect excuse for both Andrés and Kelly to continue supporting him emotionally. .

This is how they began to interfere in the alleged businesses and began to get more money from them, they even traveled to Spain with the excuse of doing the paperwork so that all the inheritance came out and with the argument that the Prosecutor’s Office was persecuting Alejandro for allegedly the crime of money laundering, for allegedly having received around 900,000 euros and not being able to justify them due to the issue of the inheritance entanglement.

They made the story credible by showing forged documents, with a third character in the story named Iñaki and he was in charge of the case in Spain and other matters.

But everything began to become a problem after the trip, because in addition to the fact that Andrés and Kelly got into debt with their entire family, they also took money from the law firm and Alejandro did not return the money they had lent them. Until one day, finally, they consigned 20,000 euros and that calmed the situation.

Then the rumor began that Andrés and Kelly would have helped Alejandro Estrada Cardona and Olga Cardona to defraud people from Medellín, for which they were outraged and without understanding much, they proceeded to sue one of the people who would be making the accusations and there it was. when, when talking to the person involved, everything made sense and they realized that they, too, were victims of the web of lies of Estrada and his mother.

“When I told them that this was probably a lie and that there was no inheritance, they immediately looked like a panicked face. And I told them that what they had to do was start doubting, because basically there was so much trust, affection, that they were very biased, so to speak. It is as if there was a kind of emotional kidnapping”, the lawyer also explained to Radio Ambulante.
