Ukrainian soldiers have completed their training in the United Kingdom to learn how to handle the 14 Challenger 2 tanks supplied by London to Ukraine in the face of the Russian invasion, paving the way for an upcoming delivery of the devices, announced Monday March 27 the UK Ministry of Defence.
“The United Kingdom is sending the Challenger 2 tanks, which will soon be in the hands of the armed forces” of kyiv, assured the ministry. London had previously mentioned a delivery in March.
The training of Ukrainian soldiers began shortly after the announcement in early January of the supply of these tanks by the United Kingdom. The trained Ukrainian soldiers, whose number has not been specified, are returning to their country “better equipped, but no less in danger”, declared the British defense minister.

Russia said on Monday that it would not change its plans to deploy “tactical” nuclear weapons in Belarus, despite widespread criticism from Western countries.

The European Union has threatened Minsk with new sanctions if this deployment is carried out, while the United States has indicated that it has “no indication” that Moscow intends to use tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
“Ukraine expects effective actions to counter the Kremlin’s nuclear blackmail from the UK, China, the US and France” as permanent members of the UN Security Council, said the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
