The value of fuels change every day (Infobae)
Don’t you know what are the prices of gasoline, diesel and diesel per liter in the Spanish capital of Madrid? Then consult the highest and lowest costs for this Friday, March 24, according to information from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
As they continually change, it’s important to stay informed about gasoline prices.
It is worth mentioning that fuel prices depend on a series of variables, such as the international price of crude oil, products and the dollar, as well as taxes, plus distribution and marketing expenses.
The first three items are defined by the market, taxes are set by government authorities, and the distribution and marketing margin depend on geographic location, relations between oil companies and distributors, among others.

The price of fuel in Madrid changes every day (Reuters)
In the particular case of information published in this note on gasoline prices in Madrid, this and that of the rest of the country is published on the official page of the “Gas Stations Geoportal” of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
For this, each one of the gasoline station operators must send their costs at least once a week -every Monday- or every time they change their prices.
Those gas stations that do not update their cost data not only stop appearing in the “Gas Station Geoportal” but can also be sued for non-compliance.
Fuel stations can also be penalized for reporting prices other than what they actually charge their customers.
In the case of fuel costs in general, their variation depends on various factors, both national and international.
Although the international price of oil is the basis for knowing the price at which a liter of fuel can be sold, the truth is that it does not depend directly.
First, it must be considered that in international markets, oil is quoted in dollars, while in Spain fuels are sold in euros.
If the international price of oil drops 5%, but during the same period the dollar appreciates 10% against the euro, it is to be expected that the sale price of gasoline in euros will rise. And vice versa.
To this we must add two factors: the commercial margin, which changes daily, as well as the international price of oil and the exchange rate; as well as special taxes, which may vary annually.
