UA total of fifteen aerial means, ten of them from the Generalitat, three from the Government of Aragon and two from the central, are already working on the fire declared in the Castellón town of Villanueva de Viver and which also affects the Teruel municipality of San Agustín.
According to sources from the Castellón Provincial Fire Brigade Consortium, the fire notice was received at 12:50 p.m. and the fire started in a ravine area with a large amount of forest mass, which was also very dry due to the scarcity of rains in recent months.
In addition to the air resources, six fire departments from the Castellón Provincial Council, three forestry coordinators and a forestry technician from the Provincial Council fire department, ten forest fire departments from the Generalitat, a 12,000-liter supply truck, also work in the area. capacity, another of 35,000 liters and the mobilized troops of the Military Emergency Unit (UME).
The UME has deployed 74 soldiers and 19 vehicles with 12 pumpers and 4 water pumps to work together with the media that are in the area.
The Consortium has established the Advanced Command Post (PMA) in Barracas, from where the entire device is coordinated, while the Government of Aragon has mobilized a PMA vehicle in San Agustín, in the border area between the provinces of Castellón and Teruel.
The Emergency Coordination Center has elevated the fire to Situation 2 – “highly dangerous” – due to the risk that exists of affecting “seriously the population and non-forest assets”.
For the moment, Puebla de Arenoso and three of its districts -Los Calpes, Los Cantos and La Monzona- have been evicted, as well as the municipality of Fuente la Reina.
The Villanueva de Viver City Council has issued an edict in which it recommends the residents be evicted from the municipality; although it is not yet mandatory, people from the Center for Personal Autonomy are being called to prepare their belongings. The council has offered help to older people who cannot stay with relatives or acquaintances and has informed them that they will be able to spend the night in a hotel in Segorbe on behalf of the City Council.
In addition, the DGT reports the total closure of two roads near the fire and affected by the smoke: the CV-20 from kilometer 52 in Montanejos to kilometer 65 in La Monzona and the CV-207 at kilometer 13 in Fuente la Reina. and kilometer 6.5 in Mases and Tamboril, already in the province of Teruel.
