Sixteen reserves planned in Deux-Sèvres

1,573 Olympic swimming pools. This is the equivalent of the volume of water of the 16 reserves planned in Deux-Sèvres, a project developed by a group of 220 farms with the support of the State.

70 million euros. This is the total cost of these 16 structures. It was recently reassessed upwards to include security costs. Funding is 70% provided by public funds. It is conditional on the adoption of agro-ecological practices by irrigators.

93 basins. This is the number of planned replacement reserves in the former Poitou-Charentes region that are the subject of appeals. Opponents fear that these water storage projects will become widespread in France.
