Saint Turibio de Mogrovejo († 1606)

Born in Majorca, Spain, Turibio de Mogrovejo was appointed by King Philip II Archbishop of Lima in Peru. He is a great benefactor of the Indians, defending their cause in front of the authorities. Turibio had the catechism translated, founded seminaries, built schools, churches and hospitals. He is the patron saint of Latin American bishops.
