Main shareholder Liberty Global wants to take over Telenet completely. If the takeover bid of 22 euros per share, or 930 million euros, succeeds, the ‘Flemish’ telecom company will disappear from the stock exchange after 18 years and will be completely in American hands. “Looking back never helps, but those who bought high may be counting on a new higher bid,” says Tom Simonts, financial economist at KBC.
