The formula that won the election, along with the leaders of Together for Change
With 97% of the votes counted in the municipal elections of La Falda, in Córdoba, the current radical mayor, Javier Dieminger, prevailed with 70.94% of the votes and was on his way to be re-elected for a new term. The leader is the only candidate for Together for Change (JxC) and competes against Miguel Maldonado, from the Front of All. Schiarettismo did not present a contender.
The presidential candidates of this space, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and Gerardo Morales, traveled to the city and joined the photo of the celebration for the electoral victory. While Martín Lousteau, national senator and leader of Radical Evolution, was closely following the election, although he will not travel.

La Falda belongs to the department of Punilla. It has 35,000 inhabitants and 14,000 were authorized to vote at 41 polling stations. Voting is not mandatory and, as Infobae was able to learn, it paid for about 50% of the register. In addition to the mayor, eight councilors for the local Deliberative Council and three regular members of the Court of Accounts with their alternates are put into play.
With this provisional result, JxC would be left with six councilors and two would be for the Frente de Todos.
After knowing the first results of the elections, the Buenos Aires head of government, also accompanied by Gerardo Morales, Luis Juez, Rodrigo De Loredo, Mario Negri and Soher El Sukaria, among other leaders, maintained that Dieminger’s victory “consolidates the change that they need Córdoba and the country”.

In the mayor’s bunker, Rodríguez Larreta assured that the victory is recognition of “very good management that generated transformations that people value” and teamwork between the UCR, the PRO and the Civic Front.
“We have a great team in Córdoba to strengthen the province like never before” he closed, referring to Luis Juez and Rodrigo De Loredo, who have already launched their candidacies for governor and vice president of this province, respectively.
For JxC it is a key election because of what La Falda represents for the province and because of what Córdoba means for the opposition. Since the end of last year, the coalition has been facing arduous negotiations to settle the candidacy for governor in the second largest district in the country.
Mario Negri’s message
“Congratulations The Skirt!! Congratulations Dieminger on your sweeping triumph, the neighbors have been able to appreciate your excellent management. Change is coming in Córdoba!!”, highlighted, for his part, the head of the bloc of radicals in the Chamber of Deputies, Mario Negri.
The national deputy Rodrigo De Loredo (UCR) and the national senator Luis Juez (Civic Front) are launched for the provincial fight. Although with differences, they maintain a good dialogue and everything is heading to order. As Infobae recounted, this Saturday the results of a survey that will serve the leaders as a tool to pave the final political negotiation were known.
In this context, national radicalism does not want to miss the photo with the first electoral victory of the year for JxC in Córdoba. Morales and De Loredo will also be joined by national deputy Mario Negri, a radical leader from Córdoba. While Rodríguez Larreta supported him during the mayor’s campaign and will not miss the opportunity to add a triumphant photo to his presidential album.
Luis Juez and Rodrigo De Loredo dispute the candidacy for governor of Córdoba within JxC
The head of the City Government traveled to Córdoba together with Eduardo Macchiavelli, secretary of Federal Projection of CABA and Larretista shipowner in the interior, and Marcelo Wechsler, political operator of the mayor of Buenos Aires in some provinces of the Northwest and center of the country.
Patricia Bullrich will not go to the province today. The other presidential candidate of the PRO has a trip to Córdoba scheduled for tomorrow, at an invitation from the Stock Exchange. She will make a tour with local leaders and will try to meet with the mayor of La Falda. In the larretism they slipped that Dieminger did not want Bullrich to go today.
The election in La Falda takes place in the midst of strong tensions in JxC due to the closure of provincial lists. The PRO faces, in turn, the internal tussles between Larreta and Bullrich, the space presidential candidates. Added to this are the nuances in radicalism, a party that is not exempt from turbulence. In this scenario, Córdoba is a key province for the opposition and everything indicates that there will be an agreement between Judge and De Loredo.
The province of Córdoba is one of the 21 jurisdictions that must elect a governor and renew local authorities and the entire Cordoba legislature, which has 70 seats. There are 44 that will be elected throughout the province, while another 26 are elected by each department. However, the voting date has not yet been made official, which must be determined by decree of Governor Juan Schiaretti.
Meanwhile, in the national elections that will take place on October 22, after the Open, Simultaneous and Mandatory Primaries (PASO) on August 13, Córdoba must vote for president, vice president and 9 deputies.
