PSV can again have Luuk de Jong on a visit to Vitesse. The captain missed last week’s match against SC Cambuur (5-2 win) due to an ankle injury. Anwar El Ghazi and Fábio Silva are also in the starting line-up, so Johan Bakayoko has to take a seat on the bench this time.
Trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij also chooses the same players as against Cambuur. Joël Drommel is again the goalkeeper, as first choice Walter Benítez is recovering from surgery on his knee. Xavi Simons is the most advanced midfielder in the 4-3-3 system.
Richard Ledezma is missing from the match selection. The American is currently finalizing a lease, it is said to be New York FC.
As a condition of the rental, the midfielder has extended his contract with PSV until mid-2025. Ledezma was a substitute in the home game with Cambuur a week ago.

PSV is currently fourth in the Eredivisie
PSV, currently fourth in the Eredivisie, is six points behind Feyenoord and three behind Ajax. These teams are currently facing each other in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. AZ has one point more than the team from Eindhoven. AZ will play against FC Twente later on Sunday.
PSV last lost in the competition on January 24. Then FC Emmen was 1-0 too strong. Since then, the team from Eindhoven has won five times in the Eredivisie and two matches ended in a draw.
For PSV, the meeting with Vitesse also means seeing Phillip Cocu again. Vitesse’s current trainer played for PSV from 1995 to mid-1998.
After his active football career, Cocu worked for ten years in various trainer positions at the Eindhoven club. The former midfielder was head coach of PSV for five seasons.
The kick-off of Vitesse against PSV is at 4.45 pm. The referee is Pol van Boekel.
