Elisa Carrió (Cristian Gaston Taylor)
Many have already started the political campaign ahead of the next national elections. Launches, tours, photos, meetings and surveys begin to mark the agenda of all those who are seeking to access a space through the popular vote.
That is not the case of Elisa Carrió, the leader of the Civic Coalition and pre-candidate for president, who only appears on a few occasions, such as in the launch of who will be her competitor in the PASO of Together for Change, the radical Gerardo Morales. He had done the same before when another of the competitors was launched, the PRO member Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.
For now, the CC leader decided to wait to launch the campaign. She will continue with her courses at the Hannah Arendt Foundation, but she will go on tour to support their candidates who have early elections in different locations in the rest of the country.
The first of the trips will be to support the candidates who will integrate the lists of legislators and councilors in Cambia Río Negro, the front that leads Aníbal Tortoriello as a candidate for governor on April 16.
In the City of Buenos Aires he remains next to Fernán Quirós. “He is the candidate with the highest moral integrity,” he said days ago while accompanying a tour with the pre-candidate for Buenos Aires head of government.
He will also do the same in Neuquén, where he will go to accompany and support Valeria Todero, candidate for mayor of the capital city of the Patagonian province, and Pablo Cervi.

In the midst of this, Carrió and his team will work on the list of candidates with the intention of, at least, maintaining the number of seats in the Chamber of Deputies. Today the ARI Civic Coalition has eleven deputies and is putting seven of the eleven seats at stake in the next elections.
The one who will surely go for another term is the president of the party, the deputy Maximiliano Ferraro, who represents the city of Buenos Aires. Ferraro and the provincial deputy Maricel Etchecoin, the person in charge of the CC in Buenos Aires, are also members of the National Board of JxC
In the case of the six remaining legislators who finish their term on December 10, it still remains to be defined if they will seek to renew their seats. In this group is Laura Castets, from Santa Fe, Mónica Frade and Mariana Stilman, from the province of Buenos Aires, Rubén Manzi, from Catamarca, Leonor Martínez Villadad, from Córdoba and Mariana Zuvic from the City of Buenos Aires.
The number of seats to be renewed is not a minor fact and would be one of the reasons for Carrió’s candidacy. Today, although he is not at the center of the scene like Bullrich and Rodríguez Larreta are, Carrió knows that his presence divides the vote more. and this gives him a seat at the list negotiation table.
The leader of the Civic Coalition supports Fernán Quirós
In addition, the Civic Coalition is on one of the fronts that most irritates at least one of the members of Together for Change. Following Carrió’s order, he maintained the demand for impeachment against the Minister of the Court Ricardo Lorenzetti. This does not go down well with the ranks of the PRO, which advocates that the Frente de Todos back down in its treatment of impeachment.
Meanwhile, the Civic Coalition remains on three fronts. The intern of Together for Change where Ferraro and his fellow deputy Juan Manuel López are the ones who sit at the National Table to take the position of the party, the parliamentarian. trying to balance the lawsuit against Lorenzetti, the push of the Frente de Todos and the criticism of the PRO and finally, the places on the list that, although there is still a while to go, all the electoral fronts have already started their meetings.
“For now the pace will be calm, tours in support of ours and we will see, after Easter we will leave with greater force,” they explain.
