The gesture of Kirchnerism to Alberto Fernández: he will support the approval of military promotions in the Senate

In the first instance, Kirchnerism in the Upper House had “boxed” a good part of those 28 and rejected 9 of that number. From Juntos por el Cambio they pointed out that it was by “bearing the last name” since they are relatives of detainees for having committed crimes against humanity during the last civic-military dictatorship. From the ruling party they said they were under review.

But, in the midst of the palace disputes that have slowed down the actions of the Senate, the interblock of the Frente de Todos decided to resume talks both outside and inside. That is why while seeking to unlock and carry out a session with Together for Change, he notified the Casa Rosada that the legislators will give the go-ahead to the specifications of the military that the National Executive had sent.

“We are going to bring to the venue all the specifications that have an opinion, not only those of the judges,” they explained from the official interblock. “If you have an opinion, they will be approved,” they added.

This is read by many as a gesture of the now interblock commanded by José Mayans and is seconded by Anabel Fernández Sagasti and Juliana Di Tullio towards President Alberto Fernández, who had sent the request that they be approved through the Minister of Defense, Jorge Taiana.

But not all. Of the 28 that remain to be appointed, the Agreements Committee decided to reject the promotions of Sergio Pucheta, Guillermo Gomar, María Alejandra Freytes, Andrea Cristina de Marco, Juan Alberto Mercatelli and Rubén Algieri. Meanwhile, Roberto Casares, Pablo Fal and Gustavo Otero did have the go-ahead and may be promoted in the next session at the venue seven days after the publication of the opinion.

A particular case is that of the person who is dedicated to caring for the president, Major Colonel Alejandro Daniel Guglielmi, head of the Military House, which, in other words, is the head of custody of the President of the Nation. If now it is difficult to hold a session after that, it will be much more complicated and the specifications of the military are not a priority to hold an emergency session,” a parliamentary source told Infobae.
