Fedja van Huêt fished behind the net on Thursday at the Critics Choice Super Awards. The Dutch star was nominated in the category best actor in a horror film for his role in the Danish film Speak No Evil. But the statuette went to actor Ralph Fiennes on Thursday, who plays a sadistic chef in The Menu.
In Speak No Evil, Van Huêt and Karina Smulders play a couple who befriend a Danish couple on holiday.
The Critics Choice Super Awards is a derivative of the regular Critics Choice Awards. The award show was created to draw more attention to popular genres such as superheroes, science fiction, fantasy, action and horror.
The big winner of the ceremony was the action film Everything Everywhere All at Once, which was also the big winner at the Oscars ceremony last Sunday.
The film, about a middle-aged woman who can travel between universes, won Critics Choice Super Awards in the categories of best picture, best actress and best supporting actor, among others. Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan also won Oscars in these categories on Sunday.
